摘　　要：Objective: To investigate the mental health state of policeman and its related factors. Methods: 339 policemen were recruited and asked to complete a number of rating scales including Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CESD), Life Event Scale (LES), Ways of Coping Scale, Social Support Scale, as well as an unstructured and a structured scale for duty-related stress. Results: The policemen obtained higher SAS and CESD scores than the normal controls, most of them perceived duty-related stress. Possible factors affecting policemen’s mental health were life events, ways of coping and social support. Conclusion: The policemen had higher incidence of depression and anxiety which may be related to their job nature, life events, ways of coping, and social support.
