摘　　要：Generally regarded as one of the most talented and controversial writers in Britain, Jeanette Winterson has been noted for her outright problematisation of gendered identity as well as her dauntless exploration of female sexuality. The Powerbook, one of Jeanette Winterson's latest novels, could be seen as the most representative of her anti-essentialist views. Therefore, with the help of feminist theories, the essay aims to explore how Winterson subverts the traditional ideology of femininity and the patriarchal paradigm of gender and sexuality in this novel, and further attempts to uncover the power in this Powerbook.
