摘　　要：By approaching the Catholic view of merchant and his profit,usury and the just price,the author affirms that catholic economic ethic was modified by theologists and canonists to adapt to economic and social development during the latter part of the Medieval Ages.Thus it was impossible to block the rise of capitalism according to Max Weber.catholic ethic’s transition from antagonising capitalism to approving capitalism demonstrated that any kind of value\|system must be inevitably changed along with the transformation of the mode of production and life.
