摘  要:With economic globalization,the issue of cultural identity becomes especially prominent and urgent.There was no this problem in ancient China.It arises parallel with the process of the Chinese modernization.However,it remains unresolved.Our history and tradition can provide the basis for cultural identity,but they can not establish a new identity.The self?identity of the modern nation state includes three aspects:the political ideal,the commitment for values and the cultural character.The cultural identity of modern China can merely be the result of the active interplay between us and our tradition,between other cultures and Modernity.It will make the Chinese way of development really possible.
