摘  要:Drop impact is a ubiquitous phenomenon in nature and many engineering applications,from marine science,soil and water conservation to combustion and ink-jet printing.The application of hollow powder in the deposition process of thermal barrier coatings can generate a thicker and more uniform layer.The hollow particles are molten before impacting on the target surface,corresponding to a drop containing a bubble.Previous studies observed that such air-in-liquid compound drops can generate a vertical jet during impact,and that the maximum spreading of the drop is reduced due to the presence of the bubble.In this research,we systemically studied the effect of bubble size,liquid properties and impact velocity on the spreading dynamics of a drop containing a bubble impacting on a solid surface.Finally,we propose a model for the maximum spreading of the impacting air-in-liquid compound drop,adapted from previous theories for pure liquid drop impact.
